Privacy notice

This website is run by the team behind the Industrial Drive project. We want to be straight with you about what we collect.
RUM Group, Inc. is responsible for this website and is the data controller for the personal information you submit through it, which means RUM Group, Inc. decides how that information is used. RUM Group, Inc. uses service providers, such as J. Russell & Associates, LLC, to operate this website and to handle that information on its instructions.
What we collect
The only personal information we collect is what you choose to enter on one of our forms. If you sign up for updates, ask a question, or RSVP, we collect the name, email, phone, and city you provide, along with the IP address the submission was sent from.
We also collect some information about how the site is used, unless you turn that off. When you visit, we place a first-party cookie that gives your browser a random visitor ID, and we record the pages you view, how long you spend on each page, the page you leave from, the links and buttons you click on the site, the site or link that brought you here (including the tracking codes on our postcards), the IP address of your connection, and the type of device and browser you use. We use the IP address to estimate the general area (city or region) a visit came from. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies and receives similar usage information. Google is a third party governed by its own privacy policy and terms of use, which we do not control, and we encourage you to review them. We delete our own visit records after 180 days. You can turn analytics off at any time through the cookie banner or the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page, and we do not collect this information from visitors who have turned it off.
Why we collect it
We use the details you enter to reply to you and to make sure the questions we answer at the public meeting reflect the people of Maysville and the surrounding area. We use the IP address for one purpose only: to estimate the general area (city or region) a submission came from, so we can gauge how much of the interest is local to Maysville. These estimates are approximate, are used only as a rough signal, and are never used to identify anyone personally.
How we use it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for paid advertising or to target you on other platforms. We communicate by email only; we do not send text messages.
The Community Benefits Survey
The Community Benefits Survey is conducted by RUM Group, Inc. If you take it, your responses will be shared with the Community Benefit Agreement Committee and with the City of Maysville to help shape the agreement. Summaries of the results, and possibly individual written comments, may be discussed at public meetings or included in public documents. Completing the survey does not create any funding obligation or commitment by RUM Group, Inc. or the City of Maysville to any particular investment, proposal, or outcome.
The survey does not ask for your name, and the optional Stay Informed section at the end is separate and up to you. If you fill it in, we keep those contact details with your response and, if you give an email address, add you to our update list (you can unsubscribe at any time). Even without it, in a small community the things you write in your own words, or the combination of your answers, could allow someone to recognize you, so please do not include anything you would not want shared.
We ask for one response per person. When you submit, this site sets a cookie (mv_cba_done) so the survey is not shown to you again on that device. We also record the IP address and browser type used to submit, and use them only to spot duplicate or automated submissions and to estimate how much of the response is local to Maysville. When website analytics is on, your response also notes which visit to this site it came from (the random visitor ID from our analytics cookie), so our team can see how people found the survey; that ID stays with us and is not shared with the City. To ask us to delete a survey response, or the contact details you gave with it, email [email protected]. Because responses are anonymous, please tell us roughly when you submitted and the email address you entered, if any, so we can find it.
If you subscribe, our community updates are sent through our email provider, Resend, which handles them on our behalf. Resend is a third party with its own terms of service and privacy policy, which we do not control, and we encourage you to review them. These emails include standard open and click tracking, so we can see whether a message was opened and which links were clicked. We use this only to gauge interest and improve our updates. We do not sell or share it. Every email has a working one-click unsubscribe link, we keep a log confirming each unsubscribe is honored, and you can limit open tracking by keeping images turned off in your email app.
Cookies
This site uses cookies. When you first visit, a cookie banner from Ketch, the consent tool we use, tells you what is on and lets you turn analytics off. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page. Two cookies are strictly necessary and are set regardless of your choice: mv_cba_done, which remembers that this device already submitted the Community Benefits Survey (one response per person), and mv_consent, which remembers your analytics choice so it applies immediately on the next page. Both last up to one year. Ketch also stores your consent choice on your device so the banner does not keep reappearing. Ketch and Google are third parties governed by their own privacy policies and terms of use, which we do not control, and we encourage you to review them. If analytics is on, we set mv_vid, a first-party cookie holding a random visitor ID that lasts up to one year, and Google Analytics sets its own cookies (their names begin with _ga). We set no advertising or social media cookies.
Request deletion of your information
You can ask us to delete the personal information we have collected about you. Email [email protected] and include your name, the email address you used, and your phone number (if you gave one) so we can find your records and remove them. We will let you know when it is done.
